British Airways to start 787-9 flights to San Jose, California
BA will begin flying from Heathrow to the Californian city from May 4 2016 when it will operate a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on the route. As a result, the airline will fly 270 weekly services between the UK and the US – further strengthening the value of this most important market.

BA already flies from London to San Francisco (where it put an A380 into service earlier this year), Los Angeles and San Diego.
The Dreamliner, a new plane for the airport that will be delivered in September, offers a variety of seating options including eight seats in its premium “First” cabin.
San Jose aviation director Kim Becker said London has been “the number one requested global destination” by San Jose passengers.
‘We are also planning to change the width of the 787-8 World Traveller seats in line with our new 787-9 Dreamliners’.
Attending a news conference at SJC yesterday was BA SVP – North America Simon Brooks, who said: “We are thrilled to be bringing our most technically advanced aircraft to the tech centre of the world”.
Matthew Mahood, San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, immediately hailed the flight as a “great opportunity for both business and personal travelers”.

“Our new daily service will offer fantastic direct flights between Silicon Valley and London, with onward connections to scores of destinations around the globe on our extensive world-wide network”.
