LG to launch its first flat 4K OLED televisions at IFA 2015

LG Electronics has launched today world’s First 4K OLED TV in India in two screen sizes of 55 and 65 inches. Fortunately, LG is finally offering flat versions of its 4K OLED TVs, starting with the 55-inch 55EF9500 and the 65-inch 65EF9500, both of which are being released in September.

Along with this, the new TVs also come with proprietary WRGB technology that boasts 33 million colour sub-pixels which is approximately 27 million more than a conventional full HD TV.

Moreover, there will be a considerable design upgrade to give the OLED TVs a whole new dimension. We will have more details on LG’s new range of OLED TVs when they are made official at IFA 2015 next month. While this isn’t a serious hindrance for the curved OLEDs – Ultra Blu-ray discs will still look spectacular – it is a particular advantage only the flat-screened OLED TVs will enjoy. With both curved and flat options, there’s an OLED TV suitable for all types of rooms and environments.

The 55-inch model is priced at Rs3,84,900, while the 65-inch model is priced at Rs5,79,900.

All of them will be based around the webOS 2.0 operating system, and feature super-fast boot times and built-in Harman/Kardon speakers. Featuring self-lighting pixels that do not require separate backlights and diffusers, OLED televisions are capable of achieving a truer black than on any LCD LED television.

The company has just announced its TV line-up for Berlin’s IFA 2015 technology tradeshow, set to kick off next week. “As part of our ongoing commitment to giving users the best viewing experience possible, we are proud to continue leading the way in the next generation of home entertainment through our OLED TV’s”.
