HTC Aero with MediaTek’s deca-core chipset might arrive as HTC A9

At some point down the road, HTC had to apologize to investors for the disappointing sales, but promised it would bounce back later this year with a “hero” project meant to wash away the failure that was the One M9.

As it appears, the alleged HTC Aero looks practically identical to the iPhone 6 with the same metal design, rounded corners and the antenna lines to maintain wireless connectivity.

Speaking of other HTC A9 specifications, the smartphone will apparently be released in two colors – Tyrant Gold and Dark Gray. An Android Central report says the phone will have a deca-core MediaTek X20 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 3,500mAh battery.

Earlier this month the Taiwanese smartphone maker said it would cut jobs and discontinue models as part of its strategy to focus on high-end devices to better compete with the likes of Apple Inc. and Samsung Electronics. ‘They will be significant’. In fact, it was Apple who stepped closer to HTC’s design with the iPhone 6.

HTC is heavily rumored to be creating a budget version of the HTC One M9 with some slightly less impressive specs paired with a more appealing price tag.

Analysts, however, are less optimistic, saying HTC is likely to continue to struggle for the next four quarters at least.
