Earlier this month, the Nusra Front announced that it would leave the border regions to other Syrian rebels.

Turkey will see full action in the fight against Islamist militants under an agreement with the United States.

Turkey recently agreed to join the coalition that supports combined joint task force-operation, Inherent Resolve. He grew visibly uncomfortable when pressed on the subject.

Bilgic said any article claiming that Turkey was involved in the kidnapping was a “fiction”. “We believe that Turkey is committed to fully participating as soon as possible”. Within a few hours, the opposition took over the IS-controlled towns of Kara, al-Mazraa and al-Kherba and a gas station, only to withdraw from them in the evening of the same day due to the heavily planted mines.

Among those abducted was the Division 30 commander, Col. Nadim Hassan.

“Then the ground will be safer for the moderate opposition that are fighting Daesh“. “We’re concluding those subtle elements now”, Kirby said. “Remember”, he said, “America has targeted Nusra with some airstrikes“.

The US-backed rebels now claim that Turkish intelligence leaked information about the NSF’s arrival plans in Syria to al-Nusra.

A spokesman for the Kurdish People’s Protection Units, Mustafa Abdi, also alleged that he had been informed Turkey leaked the information to al Nusra.

Turkey has long been nervous of anything that could lead to the creation of a Kurdish state and has been using its anti-IS air campaign to bomb Kurdish positions too.

“They want the Americans to train and equip rebels but only on their terms and to confront both the regime and the Islamic State“, he said.

The assault on Marea could prove disastrous for rebels fighting Islamic State, which has overrun swathes of Iraq and Syria over the past year.

In an announcement on Tuesday, the US Department of Defense said it has finalized technical details of Turkey’s role in the coalition.

The same situation is developing around the so called New Syrian Force.

The contrasting statements emanating from Ankara and Washington begged the question of whether there is deepening acrimony between the two allies over how to proceed to flush out ISIL militants from the Turkish border. Critics argue that Turkey has been using the air strikes against the PKK to create hostile sentiment against Kurds in Turkey before the snap general election to be held in November.

The same scenario played out again August. 13 when Ahrar al-Sham, the Sultan Murad Brigade and the Shamiya Front launched a massive offensive with several tanks and armored vehicles on the villages along the Turkish border.
