Goldin was officially declared missing in action by the Israeli army before his family were later informed that he was dead.

Hamas’ tunnels, which serves both as smuggling routes of non-lethal contraband as well as weapons and weapon materials, have been vital to the Islamist organization’s almost decade long rule of the coastal Palestinian enclave, from which it ousted rivals Fatah in a bloody civil war after winning elections in 2006.

In July, Hamas told Iranian television they had built another new tunnel that they were planning on using to infiltrate Israel and carry out attacks in the future. “At the moment, holding him is only hurting them”. Najjar denied that Goldin had been brought there, and said the IDF threatened to bomb the hospital.

Goldin’s family dismissed the claims made in the documentary, saying they amounted to deliberate falsehoods. “The IDF does not tolerate any attempt to undermine the security of southern Israel”, explains IDF Spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner “The Hamas terror organization is responsible for today’s attack against Israel”.

“The lies and slanders of Hamas are played up again and reported favorably by al-Jazeera, which is outrageous”, the statement said.

The family also called “to increase pressure on Hamas to return Hadar [Goldin] and Oron [Shaul], whose bodies were kidnapped, for burial in Israel”. Two were Israeli soldiers.

“If Israel would like to get some information about this guy, they should release all those Hamas members who are being freed in the Shalit deal and the Israelis recaptured them and put them in jail”, adds Yousef.

The High Court of Justice ordered the release of Allan from his administrative detention a little over a week ago due to his deteriorating medical condition, including the revelation that his brain had been damaged.

The clip pictures Shalit sitting with Mohammad Abu Shamalah, who was the senior military commander of the souther part of the Gaza Strip for Hamas, and was eventually killed by the IDF during Operation Protective Edge in the summer of 2014 in Gaza, according to Haaretz.

Hamas has also been steadily building up troops and carrying out training exercises near the Israel-Gaza border in recent months, according to a report by the Times of Israel.
