Texas Gov. Greg Abbott he will seek to “eliminate and criminalize any sale or transaction of fetal tissue by an abortion clinic for any objective whatsoever” as part of his response to widely discredited videos targeting Planned Parenthood.
Second, as a result of the investigative journalists exposing Planned Parenthood’s baby harvesting practice, the abortion giant admits that at least 4 of its 59 national affiliates have suddenly stopped all baby harvesting.
David Daleiden, who headed the Center for Medical Progress’ operation, called the report “a desperate, 11th-hour attempt to distract from the conversations and admissions that are documented really clearly on the video and in records”. Ted Cruz, a former associate deputy attorney general at the U.S. Department of Justice, said that selling fetal tissue for profit is a federal felony that carries a 10-year jail sentence.
“Specifically, our guidance provides that there be ‘no substantive adjustment in the timing of terminating the pregnancy or of the method used was made for the objective of obtaining the blood and/or tissue, ‘” Richards continued.
“Great day! Except for Planned Parenthood!” he tweeted that evening. The claims of the producers never matched the reality of the videos, so I stopped watching when new ones came out.
Lila Rose of Live Action posted along with a collage of protesters holding signs with the slogan “Planned Parenthood sells baby parts” and commented that, “America is waking up and speaking out!”
But, it said, “the manipulation of the videos does mean they have no evidentiary value in a legal context and can not be relied upon for any official inquiries” unless CMP provides investigators with its original material and that material is independently authenticated as unaltered.
The footage shows Planned Parenthood executives casually discussing the methods – and costs – related to preserving fetal organs during an abortion.
Planned Parenthood says in the lawsuit that it provides family planning services and other preventative health services to women in Mobile and Birmingham with coverage through the Medicaid program. The Center for Medical Progress is based in California, and several of the videos were shot there.
As some conservatives in Washington seek to cut its federal funding, Alabama, Louisiana and Arkansas have targeted the Planned Parenthood’s Medicaid funding, covering preventive healthcare services such as birth control and cancer screenings.
The initiative seeks to end all state and local funding to Planned Parenthood in Texas.
Glenn Simpson of Fusion Global Positioning System said the video work was “sloppy at best” and that transcripts provided by the center were inaccurate and erroneous.

We believe the federal support for Planned Parenthood is an investment in women’s health care targeting those who are the most in need, and should not be reduced.
