‘Bad Blood’ wins Video of the Year at the MTV VMAs

In case you missed it, Swift and Minaj got into a heated argument on Twitter on July 21 after MTV announced the nominees for the Video of the Year.

Otherwise the night saw pop superstar Taylor Swift take an early lead, winning two of her whopping 10 nominations and burying the hatchet with rapper Nicki Minaj. The rest was VMAs history – until tonight. It was an intense, but quiet opener.

Cyrus, taken aback by what appeared to have been an unscripted moment, stumbled across her words and claimed, “we all know how they [journalists] manipulate [quotes]”.

Now that we’ve seen the “Bad Blood” squad, we’re ready to see another important person in Taylor’s life-Calvin Harris, where are you?!

Prior to the VMAs ceremony, Swift’s “Wildest Dreams” video premiered during the pre-show, and the clip was helmed by Joseph Hahn, the same director responsible for “Bad Blood” and “Blank Space“.

Taylor has had a glittering array of guests on her 1989 tour but it was her turn to make a special appearance as Nicki opened the show at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

Swift reportedly wrote “Bad Blood” about her friendship with singer Katy Perry turning sour (Swift got angry at Perry for allegedly stealing some of her backup dancers). Dressed in matching sparkly red outfits, the two chart toppers hit the stage together proving once and for all that they’ve squashed their beef for good.

Swift and The Longest Ride star Scott Eastwood play a pair of 1950s actors (Swift with brunette hair!) on a picture-perfect African film set, surrounded by wild animals and gorgeous scenery.
