‘MythBusters’ Tests ‘Breaking Bad’ Finale Machine Gun Showdown

Leave it to the team at MythBusters to put Breaking Bad protagonist Walter White’s last act of desperation under the microscope.

The “Breaking Bad” series finale received some feedback from fans – including Norm MacDonald – for perhaps not being all that realistic. Yes, they tested the plausibility of killing a roomful of white supremacists using an M60 machine gun hooked to a garage door opener and concealed in the trunk of a auto. This means that what Walter White did in the final episode of the show, was plausible.

Throughout the installment, Savage and Hyneman attempted to debunk whether it was possible for Heisenberg, mastermind behind the coveted blue meth, to take down the entire Aryan Brotherhood with nothing but a rigged M60 machine gun.

Breaking Bad” creator Vince Gilligan was there to keep the setting authentic. The gun tears apart the bad guys while Walt survives.

Before the MythBusters began their test, they showed Gilligan their set up: the gun in the trunk, the wall, the wooden soon-to-be victims.

Vulture pointed out that MythBusters has taken on Breaking Bad in the past; both times proving the show’s antics to be unrealistic.
