It’s been an eventful summer for DeAndre Jordan in his first time as an unrestricted free agent. Whenever he decides to make his choice, it’s likely that prospective agents will want some kind of explanation of what went down with the Mavericks, Clippers, and Fegan. Like all professional athletes, Jordan needs and deserves representation that will look out his best interests before looking out for theirs. Jordan’s whole free agency played out like a made-for-televison movie as it involved emojis and Cuban feeling betrayed.

Jordan informed agents Dan Fegan and Jarinn Akana last week that he was moving “in another direction”, said an National Basketball Association official not authorized to speak publicly on the matter. Jordan now has left three agents in seven seasons – Joel Bell, Wasserman Media Group and now Relativity Sports.
The National Basketball Association ultimately concluded that Los Angeles’ presentation to Jordan did not have an impact on his decision to re-sign with the team, but did not excuse the team’s violation of the league rule.
Jordan, of course, verbally committed to the Mavericks before changing his mind hours before the National Basketball Association moratorium was lifted on June 9.
ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne and Tim MacMahon reported in July that the relationship between Jordan and his agents took a turn for the worse after Jordan’s deal with the Mavericks fell through. Leaving agents is actually a common practice for players but in Jordan’s situation this seems to be an amicable decision after his tumultuous summer.

Doc Rivers and the Clippers won out in the end, keeping Jordan in the fold and remaining among the Western Conference elite with a strong summer haul that also included adding Paul Pierce, Josh Smith and Lance Stephenson to their ranks.
