The LG Watch Urbane Luxe is also going to be shown off, an expensive variant of the traditional Urbane with a gold body and a leather strap, although it won’t be almost as expensive as Apple’s costly gold timepiece. Knowing how good last year’s Z3 phones were, this certainly sounds like a formidable new set of smartphones, but Sony’s biggest achievement this year might be to actually find a serious distribution channel for them in the United States.

With IFA 2015 just days away, rumors of what to expect at the Berlin trade show are heating up.

CNET reported that Sony will also be hosting a press conference at the event on September 2, 4:15 p.m. local time.

It says some phones by manufacturers such as Huawei and Xiaomi contain modified apps created to spy on users or display advertising.

You can tune into the live stream at http://webcast.nc3-cdn.com/clients/microsoft/2015/08/31/ and we will be following along and commenting on Twitter throughout the event.

The fun kicks off on September 3 with a major Press Conference (invitation only), announcing several exciting new products. Huawei is expected to announce its Ascend Mate S. This smartphone not only packs a now standard fingerprint scanner on the back, but also Force Touch display on the front.

Like Asus, Motorola seems to be trying its luck with two different sizes.

Some things are definite. Read our guide of everything you need to know about the Moto 360 2.

But the smartwatch launches will not be limited to smartphone makers: watchmakers too will be seeking to safeguard their place on the consumer’s wrist. Motorola’s conference begins at 20.00 (19.00 BST/ 11.oo PT) on 2 September.

Many are speculating Samsung to reveal its much anticipated smartwatch, Gear S2.

Put all these events together, and this year’s IFA is shaping up to be another awesome showcase to see how Samsung Electronics’ newest appliances are helping to enrich and transform people lives.

Finally, in what could be a busy week for LG, we could see another Android Wear smartwatch with an update to the LG Urbane range replacing webOS with Google’s own software.

It’s not all about the big names at IFA – look out for wearable tech news coming out of the show on Thursday as Showstoppers showcases smaller brands from 18.00 (17.00 BST/ 13.00 PT).
