“The bad days are outshining the good ones”, Lincecum revealed.
Lincecum, who has a degenerative hip condition, had cortisone shots in his hips in July, but the discomfort has persisted.
Giants great Tim Lincecum will travel to visit noted hip doctor Marc Philippon Wednesday in Vail, Colo., where a final determination will be made as to whether Lincecum needs hip surgery, people familiar with the situation say.
“It’s definitely frustrating, but I’ve got to find a way to move forward”, he said, per Baggarly. But he acknowledged to Baggarley that he wasn’t progressing as he had hoped. I do not know. That features offseason surgical procedure, Lincecum stated.
Nonetheless, doctors are said to have told Lincecum that he could easily be ready for next spring training if he had the surgery, and they’ve further suggested that he should be able to return to form.
Lincecum hasn’t experienced “severe” hip pain, but multiple comeback attempts have been hampered by the problem, which affects his stability on the mound and factors into his high-torque delivery. His status for the remainder of the season is up in the air. But he had a 7.53 ERA in seven starts after that, and opponents batted. “It’s the inconsistency that was disappointing”, he said. “I think he’s getting another opinion”, Bochy said. I do not essentially know what my stuff seems like anymore. “It’s harder not having anything to gear it towards, I guess you could say”.
It would be a major disappointment if the fans could not say goodbye to one of their all-time favorites. And Lincecum stated it will be equally disappointing for him.
“You’re telling me”, he said. “As a lot as I really like enjoying for these followers, I cannot danger going on the market and injuring one thing additional”. At his best, Lincecum threw in the high 90s.
