Since he knows the Gase system, Dysert is expected to play during the Thursday night preseason finale against the Cleveland Browns. With Bears backup QB Jimmy Clausen out with a concussion, there’s a very good chance the Bears open the season with three QBs.

On Tuesday, the Bears also cut fellow quarterback Shane Carden, an undrafted rookie who hadn’t thrown a pass in the preseason. Dysert was a part of the Broncos’ active roster in 2013 but was on the team’s practice squad for the duration of the 2014 season. Dysert has been with the Broncos the past two seasons and will provide some depth while the Bears are without Clausen.
