When the new year rolls around, Square Enix will reveal the release date specific (like the month and the exact date) during a special event in March 2016.
The images released from Final Fantasy XV have been pretty impressive, especially given that the setting of the game is in a world which resembles Earth in many ways. Though he didn’t share exactly when in 2016 the game would see release, Tabata did go on to explain that such an announcement will be made in early 2016 at a major Square-Enix event.
That was seconded by director Hajime Tabata as he confirmed in a separate interview with Famitsu as he confirmed that the active time battle system is no longer an option. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Final Fantasy XV presentation without some talk about driving, as the development team took some time behind the wheel to show off the various perspectives and mechanics surrounding the main characters’ vehicle.
Fans who want even more information on Final Fantasy 15 should also prepare for the Tokyo Game Show in September. Back then, the game was planning on being called Final Fantasy Versus 13. Admittedly, Square Enix has their hands full with a wide variety of titles, including Rise of the Tomb Raider, updates to their MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV, and the Remake of Final Fantasy VII.
