Hundreds in Albemarle Co. Join Nationwide Planned Parenthood Protests
Supporters of Planned Parenthood argue that abortions constitute only a small percentage of its activities and that the organization and its affiliates are a major provider of women’s health services, including contraception and breast cancer screening, for indigent women.

“The attacks on us have the intended goal of making it appear that fetal tissue research is an enormous focus of Planned Parenthood“, Cecile Richards, the president of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, wrote in a letter to House Speaker John Boehner and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Harry Reid. But she defended the organization in her letter to Congress, saying it did nothing illegal and calling the videos a “smear” on its reputation.
Alabama Governor Robert Bentley visited the Madison County Republican Men’s meeting on Saturday afternoon, just days after federal health officials said he violated federal laws by cutting Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood in the state.
“Because of Planned Parenthood, I was actually referred to a good health-care provider who ended up performing an operation”, she said.
Shortly after release of the analysis, the anti-abortion group responsible for the videos dismissed the attempted debunking as “a complete failure”, and attributed gaps identified in the videos to “bathroom breaks and waiting periods”.
CMP officials have uploaded several videos to its YouTube page that it says are unedited.
Undercover videos by the Center for Medical Progress have fueled a conservative backlash against Planned Parenthood but so far have produced no evidence anyone is illegally profiting from fetal tissue. As those videos show, Planned Parenthood needs to be investigated, not subsidized.
The heightened interest in the CMP “sting” videos provides our large screen TVs a huge opportunity to reach the American public with the truth of abortion and PP’s trafficking of aborted baby parts.
Planned Parenthood came under fire last month after anti-abortion activists released a video appearing to show a Planned Parenthood doctor discussing fetus body parts for sale with undercover abortion opponent posing as a buyer. This report points to significant omissions in the longer, ostensibly unedited videos, as well as the shorter videos that have driven the controversy.
It was conducted by Fusion Global Positioning System, a Washington-based research and corporate intelligence company, and its co-founder Glenn Simpson, a former investigative reporter for The Wall Street Journal, according to The New York Times.
Planned Parenthood denies the charges and says the videos were deceptively edited.
No, what’s really at stake is how much resistance there is to Planned Parenthood.
Daleiden said Planned Parenthood must release their contracts with biomedical companies for a thorough investigation to happen.

The report argues that the five videos of Planned Parenthood representatives have “at least 42 splices where content is cut and edited together to create the appearance of seamless conversations”.
