“Right now preliminary investigation reveals there is no type of foul play but we need to wait until the medical examiner rules on the cause of death”, Atlanta police lieutenant Charles Hampton said (via the AJC).
Arnold says he watched Greg Murrey nurse one beer over the seven innings they sat next to each other at Saturday’s game between the Braves and the Yankees.
“We did CPR basically until the Grady (Memorial Medical Center) paramedics came, put him in a neck collar on a board and took him away”, Joseph Ricotta said.
August. 12, 2012: Ronald Lee Homer Jr., 30, of Conyers died after going over a railing and landing 85 feet below in the players’ parking lot.
The bad news is that the Yankees outscored the Braves 38-11 in just three games, thanks to this 20-6 blowout Sunday afternoon.
Murrey was a Braves season ticket holder for 23 years, his family said in a statement to the media on Sunday.
An autopsy on Monday showed Gregory Murrey died from the impact of his fall from the upper deck of the stadium. “I know some of our guys said it was hard to concentrate”.
After the game, Braves players reacted to the news that a man had fallen.
Branden Pinder, New York’s fourth pitcher, hit a run-scoring double off Brigham in the eighth for his first career hit. That was further substantiated by additional witnesses, who were held in a private area of the stadium immediately after the event and queried as to what they saw. No one else was injured.
In regard to Turner Field, our organization is constantly evaluating ways to ensure fan safety while maintaining the gameday experience and we will continue to do so. Police confirmed last night that the 60-year-old man had died after the fall. It should be noted that the Braves have had three separate incidents of a fan dying from a fall in the last 13 years, which is the most in all of the Major League Baseball. “He feels a little better, that’s a good sign”, Girardi said. In 2008, Justin Hayes, a 25-year-old man from Cumming, Ga., fell several levels inside the stadium to the field level, hitting a concrete and steel railing as he fell. He hit a three-run homer in the first inning, a two-run shot in the sixth and a grand slam in the seventh.
Murrey was among those booing, and he had stood up from his second-row seat when he lost his balance, witnesses said.
In Texas, a person fell about 20 ft to the bottom past the outfield fence making an attempt to catch a baseball tossed his means by Rangers outfielder Josh Hamilton.

“I think the powers that be are constantly trying, one, give the fans the experience they want while also making it as safe as possible”, Francona said.
