BuzzFeed report offers some major details about next-gen Apple TV

In a new report released on Wednesday, BuzzFeed’s John Paczkowski has shared some noteworthy details – including pricing information and key features – about tech giant Apple’s next-generation Apple TV set-top box. But the best part is…you’ll do all this searching with Siri. BuzzFeed cites sources that assert the new Apple Inc.

An earlier report by 9to5Mac claimed that Apple could charge $149 to $199, so perhaps an option for more storage will be available. Either way, the new box will feature an app store, iOS 9 software, an A8 chip found in the iPhone 6s, a few ports for power, small USB, and HDMI, and a dark gray/black design with a matching touch pad remote that has tactile buttons and motion control. It will definitely include system-wide Siri support for universal search as well – but don’t expect 4K support.

So, for instance, you’d theoretically be able to type in a search for “How I Met Your Mother” and see results from Netflix, iTunes, Hulu, etc. This would make it much quicker to find content than hopping between multiple apps.

The feature will also reportedly work with Siri, letting you search for specific shows, movies, actors, and directors with your voice.

With the event just a week away, and the leaks coming in thick and fast, it would be interesting to see what new the blogosphere will bring to the roster just hours before the event officially kicks off. We’re sure there are a lot of surprises which we don’t know about at this point.
