Mercedes-Benz AMG C63S Launched In India
With its broad, long taillights and sharply surfaced sides, Mercedes has outdone its own C-Class Coupe in the race for best-looking vehicle of 2015. Obviously the roof structure is the biggest deviation – in place of the Coupe’s metal hardtop the Cabriolet uses a cloth soft top. The keys can be used to raise or lower the top that is offered in beige, black, dark blue and dark red colors.

The S-Class Cabriolet will face competition from the likes of the Bentley Continental GT convertible, which now holds a four-star rating on What auto?
Because it’s a range-topping Merc, the convertible’s list of features is impressive indeed.
Inside is much like the Coupe – no bad thing – but with Mercedes AirCap on the top of the windscreen to reduce turbulence and the option (really?) of Airscarf to warm your neck.
With this for its newly launched product, Mercedes also assures a 0-100kmph time of 4.0s and a top speed of 250kmph. In addition to interior and exterior temperature, the sensors also detect the level of solar radiation. Mercedes says the tech will eventually spread to its other convertible models. Thanks to extensive underbody paneling around the engine compartment, main floor, rear axle and wind-tunnel-optimized wing mirrors, the S-Class Cabriolet’s aerodynamic prowess helps to cut down on wind noise and fuel consumption.
No changes are made to the car’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8, meaning output lies at 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque in the standard version and 503 hp and 516 lb-ft in the S model. There will also be an AMG on offer in the S63 AMG Cabrio with a 5.5-litre twin turbo V8 churning 584PS.
Anchored to all that metallurgical wizardry is a three-layer softtop that can be raised and lowered in less than 20 seconds at speeds of up to 37 miles per hour. “The new S-class cabriolet symbolizes our passion for individual and timelessly exclusive mobility, which we share with our customers”.

This is actually the company’s second crack at the C-Class; a year ago the tuner unveiled upgrades for versions less heroic than the C63 S. Brabus found a few extra horses for the C200 and the C220 Bluetec diesel models.
