Described by the company as its “best processor ever”, and marking “a turning point in people’s relationship with computers” the company’s sixth generation Core chip, built on Intel‘s 14nm (nanometre) technology, aims to be the hardware that pushes consumers away from tablets and towards super-slim and light future PC devices.

Intel GM and Senior Vice President, Kirk Skaugen said in the press release: “6th Gen Intel Core processors deliver some of the most significant advancements in computing that we’ve ever seen”.
Intel has launch its new line of processors, nicknamed “Skylake”, ahead of the IFA Tech Show, which takes places from September 4-9 in Berlin, according to BBC News. Intel claims that the Skylake chips will lead to increased performance, graphics power and battery life for laptops.
In addition, the new Intel Core and Intel Xeon platforms will offer a variety of new features and experiences. They will also offer longer battery life, improved performance and smoother gaming and video, according to the chip maker. The latest processors will also support wireless display, enabling users to more easily share computer content to TVs, monitors and projectors, Intel said. However, just don’t forget that Intel is planning to deliver their revolutionary solid state drives and other products in 2016 based on their 3D XPoint technology. “We are committed to turning this vision of no passwords into reality, and with features like Windows Hello in Windows 10 paired with a 6th-Gen Intel Core processor-based system with Intel RealSense technology, you can use your face to securely and quickly log in to your device”.
