Called Skylake, the processors offer more than twice the performance, triple the battery life and 30 times better graphics capabilities, according to Intel. According to Intel, the new Core m processors perform 40% better than the last generation Core m processors and are better than the iPad Air 2 giving up to 10 hours of battery life. “They enable state-of-the-art experiences like voice control and removing the hassle of managing passwords, as well as enhanced security”. They will be half as thin, half the weight, offer 3x battery life, 2.5x performance and 30x graphics improvement. Earlier, the chips were known as “Skylake“, but now they have been named as sixth-generation Intel Core processors.

As you might expect, the new processor line also has built in support for Intel’s RealSense Camera on 2-in-1s, notebooks and All-in-One desktop systems.
Interestingly, Intel is no longer targeting their Core m parts for ultra-portable laptops, instead focusing purely on fanless tablets and compute sticks.
Intel senior vice president Kirk Skaugen has his eye on the upgrade market: “There are more than a billion PCs out there that are more than 3 years old”, he said at a news conference in Berlin.
