Mercedes Developing Tesla Fighter with 300-Mile Range
It seems that, one way or the other, everything has something to do with Tesla these days, and the trend doesn’t seem to lose momentum anytime soon. The vehicle will come with an impressive 300 miles range, and is expected to outclass the tech-heavy but hardly sumptuous interiors of Tesla.
Ola Kallenius, Member of the Board of Management of Daimler AG, responsible for Mercedes-Benz Cars Marketing & Sales: “Our strong growth in the Asia-Pacific region made a key contribution to the good sales performance of Mercedes-Benz in August”.

While speaking with a German publication, the German marque’s development chief Thomas Weber confirmed that an electric Mercedes-Benz sedan is being developed. The quoted range represents a massive hike compared to the B-Class Electric Drive which on paper does up to 200 km (124 miles) and we won’t be too surprised if the production vehicle will be positioned as a Tesla Model S or X rival. The Bavarians (the ones closer to the South, that is) are planning to expand their “i” range with a new, larger model – allegedly built on a 5 Series platform – while Audi is making huge steps forward with their e-Tron project.
