20th Century Fox World, Dubai will boast a series of themed lands, with amusement park attractions, themed restaurants, and stores.
The theme park in Dubai will comprise attractions based on popular Fox movie franchise such as “Ice Age”, “Planet of the Apes” and “Night at the Museum”. In 2013, it struck a partnership with Resorts World Genting to build a theme park in Malaysia.
While a few critics doubt that Fox could build rides on tragic-ending films like Titanic, Jeffrey Godsick, president of Fox Consumer Products thinks it’s the ideal choice!
Completion of main construction work is due in 2018, Khammas said.
The Dubai project is to be built by the Al Ahli Holding Group under a licensing agreement with the Fox consumer products group, the companies said on Tuesday. The deal allows for a roll-out of up to three additional Fox-branded resorts in territories outside Dubai. But one person briefed on the project, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of confidentiality strictures, said the developers were likely to invest more than US$850 million (S$1.1 billion) in the project.
The park will be partly funded through project financing from a consortium of banks, to be announced later this month along with the overall development cost, the chief executive said, quoted by Reuters. It recently bought TheAudience, a company that links stars on YouTube and other online platforms with major advertisers.
