They said: “Polling 36.8 percent and three times more than second place David Cameron, our Celeb Guy has to be Sepp Blatter!”.
Over the years, the community of Edenbridge have chosen a different celebrity to sit atop their Bonfire on November 5.
It was always Sepp Blatter.
The 36-foot “Guy” has been erected ahead of Thursday’s event and portrays the 78-year-old holding a football, the World Cup trophy and a large amount of cash.
“Blatter was the obvious choice really”, Society co-ordinator Charles Laver told the Mirror.
Other names which had been in the frame were Russian president Vladimir Putin, Scotland’s First Minister Nicola Sturgeon and Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.
Edenbridge Bonfire Society has been poking fun at the famous and infamous for 20 years by building and exploding a huge effigy alongside their traditional figure of Guy Fawkes.
