A$AP Rocky Attempts To Clear The Air On His Controversial Comments
Attempting to clarify his view that it shouldn’t take police shootings to focus attention on discrimination against black people, Rocky said: “I just get upset, and what I was really trying to say there was, like, yo, I just, I hate when the bandwagon stuff start”.

“I wanna clear the air”, he begins. I live in f-king Soho and Beverly Hills. I can’t relate. I’m in the studio; I’m in these fashion studios; I’m in these bitches’ drawers. If I felt like doing it I would.
Some of us knew of his 2015 TimeOut interview when it was first published. But a exhausted A$AP Rocky took the time out his schedule to stop by The Breakfast Club to clear up and explain what he meant in the controversial interview.
Do you ever feel like you’re being forced to address these issues?
On Wednesday, A$AP Rocky said the quotes were taken out of context, but that he didn’t want to comment on those issues because he “wasn’t there”.
A$AP Rocky wants you to reserve judgement until you hear the full story. “And it’s because you do these interviews with these European reporters, these journalists who want to make a name for themselves, and they take your shit out of context”.
He says that in light of recent events, he feels bad as a black man and as an American. It’s insane. This Donald Trump shit. Pardon me for sounding insensitive, it is that field nigga – house nigga mentality, you get what I’m saying?
Still, he asked, “How come black lives only matter when a police officer takes it?” So, to help you out, the rapper stopped by radio station Power 105.1 and talked to The Breakfast Club about how he really feels about the Black Lives Matter movement. “I don’t know where to start, though”. I feel like why put me on a pedestal for that, especially when I’m not asking for that?
When asked what he is now trying to say, Rocky says that he “doesn’t have all the answers” but wants to “promote prosperity”. I’m not trying to run for Congress or political office. ‘Cause at a time like this, I don’t have all the answers. I want promote peace, because at a time like this, I don’t have all the answers. I wanna talk about the fucked-up shit in my life. It’s f-ked up. “Especially for Black people”. Moreover, it is a choice that some may elect to do but are unfortunately not equipped to handle.

Professor A$AP Rocky? Unfortunately, as he’s made it painfully clear over and over again, social unrest, police brutality and racism are not his forte. Every day I stand up for black people. It is a pool as deep as a wad of spit on a New York City sidewalk on a hot day in July. We know all lives matter. They came out. They followed us with helicopters for, like, 20 minutes, and shit like that.
