A church in the York was told by the magistrate to keep the £100,000 found in the bin bag.
Actually, the bag was found by a person on Haxby Road, when he check it out, he discovers lots of money in it, and he then immediately handed that bag to police.
Police investigated a lot to find about the origins of that bag but unfortunately they failed. So after a long time, the magistrate gave it to the church under the lost and found procedure.
The parish church of St Thomas with St Maurice, in York, said it would spend the money on its continuing work in the community.
