A driving range boost may be heading to future Tesla cars
The new battery pack would also mean a boost in range for the new Model X SUV, which is of course heavier and less aerodynamic than the Model S sedan. According to Kenteken, Tesla is now ready to fit their Tesla Model S and Tesla Model X with the new 100kWh battery pack. If and when Tesla unveil the new vehicles, we can expect longer trips across countries on a single charge, which is great. The blog reports that RDW, the Dutch authority responsible for vehicle registrations, has approved a 100 kWh battery option for both Tesla cars. The information was said to have been found through a search of the open database of the regulator.
