A few rain showers possible for Friday

Rain and thunderstorms are expected across the region throughout the holiday weekend, the National Weather Service said. Skies will be cloudy with a high near 80 degrees. Highs Tuesday will be in the lower 70s north and the lower 80s south. Wednesday, temperatures will be 5-10 degrees cooler. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

THURSDAY: Partly cloudy. Low: 55. It will be a warm night again with lows in the middle to upper 60s. We’ve been talking all week about rain, but so far most of the showers have missed the Quad-Cities metro area.

Tuesday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Pleasant and clear to partly cloudy skies are expected, giving way to occasional showers late during night. Later this afternoon, redevelopment of scattered thunderstorms are expected, with the potential for some of those storms to become strong or severe. As we start Friday we will be partly cloudy and reach our day’s highs by the midday hours.
