A Former Scott Walker Aide Dropped A Tweetstorm About His Failed Candidacy

Once a considered a front-runner, Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker has chose to end his campaign for United States president amid dwindling contributions and plummeting poll numbers.

“Today, I believe that I’m being called to lead by helping to clear the field in this race for a positive conservative message to ride to the top of the field”, Walker told reporters during the press conference.

In his speech announcing the suspension of his campaign, Gov. Scott Walker appeared to perhaps be alluding to Rubio when he stated that Republicans needed to get behind a candidate who has an “optimistic view of America” like Ronald Reagan did.

Describing the issue as “personal”, he said the wedding was of a family member. “At last I trust that the voters need to be for something and not against somebody”, he proceeded. Many believe that even though Governor Walker called for other Republican candidates to quit the race, none of the candidates are expected to walk away from the race any time soon.

There are reports donors were no longer willing to support him and his campaign hit funding problems.

Larimer says the race can also potentially help other candidates. Both had taken a semester off from college to campaign with him. Jeb Bush still has plenty of money and establishment support, but he won’t make it if Chris Christie revives his campaign by shining in the debates. Former Walker supporters in Iowa and New Hampshire said they were now in for Florida Sen.

Like current House Speaker Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, the former speaker also mentioned Rubio and Fiorina as possible second choices, but neither man was ready to leap to another candidate. As soon as he said: “‘I’m the front-runner, ‘ the bar went way up and he couldn’t get over it”.

Walker’s Super PAC raised more than $20 million during the second quarter of fundraising, the fourth highest Republican fundraiser to that point.

A CNN/ORC poll out this weekend found Walker winning support from less than one-half of one percent of GOP primary voters.

“This is one of the more spectacular collapses of a campaign over a 2 1/2-month period in polling history”, said Charles Franklin, director of Wisconsin’s best-known statewide poll, who has followed Walker’s career closely.

Walker rise to national prominence began in 2011 when he moved to restrict labor unions in his state and forced workers to pay more into pensions and health plans.
