As soon as I got over the initial shock when the news broke, my mind couldn’t help but immediately wander to Ronda Rousey. In addition, from a booking perspective, WWE could have put Lesnar in the main event championship match at SummerSlam if he got a dominant victory over Hunt with the mainstream media that he would receive for the win. White said he has never seen Lesnar “so excited and nearly giddy” as he has been the past month, and so even though Saturday’s bout is “absolutely a one-fight deal”, there’s no guarantee that it’s the last UFC sees of Lesnar.
As for Hendricks, the man who once almost dethroned welterweight icon Georges St-Pierre, he was also one of the last fighters to finally appear as he stepped onto the scale with officials stringing towels around him as he shed his clothes in an attempt to make weight.
However, there might be a number of other younger WWE superstars who could warrant having that big match opportunity.
Brock Lesnar has heard the criticism.
In the co-main event, Lesnar returns after a 4 1/2 hiatus to face Mark Hunt. “I was looking forward to getting back to family time because I had just finished fighting, so I didn’t think I was going to be offered a fight at 200 and then I was like, I better get back to training”.

“I heard about it the same time as everybody else did, pretty much”, Hunt said. So perhaps there’s some leverage for the UFC and Brock to use when trying to extend this “one-off” fight into something more closely resembling a run at the title. I guessed it was him, but I was just told to stay ready for UFC 200.

The UFC found a replacement at just two days’ notice in Brazilian former middleweight champion Anderson Silva, who has previously served a suspension for a doping violation.
