The deputies on Thursday arrested a man on drug charges in Roaming Shores, Ohio, which is 60 miles east of Cleveland in Ashtabula County.
At a news conference on Friday, Ashtabula County Sheriff William Johnson said that James Brooks, 40, of Rome, Ohio, is jailed on ten charges which includes abuse of a corpse, tampering with evidence, as well as drug and weapons violations.
Bell was last seen July 23rd walking near her Southwest Boulevard home in Warren.
Appearing on a tip from different regulation enforcement, investigators situated the human stays within the outside hearth pit.
Officials say DNA will be collected from the missing 18-year-old woman’s mother to confirm if the remains are hers.
DNA tests will be conducted to determine whether the remains are those of a missing teenager.
