The top kicker in the country in the class of 2016, Quinn Nordin of Rockford, verbally committed to play football at Penn State Friday morning at Ted Carlson Memorial Stadium. He also held scholarship offers from Michigan State and Georgia, among others. Nordin complemented a live announcement with a produced video, in which he climbed out of an airplane wearing a Penn State jacket. Joining Joe this season will be John Stuetz, an intern for The Inquirer and senior at Penn State majoring in print journalism and marketing.

“The coaching staff was just off the charts awesome”, Nordin said. The return units showed improvement with an uptick and talent and speed. Nordin is also a midfielder on Rockford’s lacrosse team. Nordin hit a 65-yard field goal in practice.

His YouTube video of trick shots gained more than five million views and even got him tryouts with National Football League teams. They were in my first 10 offers and they stuck around for a while, which means a lot to my family.
