A look at friendship inside California shooting tragedy
A federal judge decided Monday that Enrique Marquez, the 24-year-old who prosecutors say provided assault rifles to the married couple who fatally shot 14 people in a terrorist attack in San Bernardino, Calif., earlier this month, will continued to be held without bail until his future court dates.

“Even though these plans were not carried out, Mr. Marquez’s criminal conduct deeply affected San Bernardino County, Southern California and the entire United States when the guns purchased by Marquez were used to kill 14 innocent people and wound many others”. Although he identified himself as the buyer at the time, he actually bought the rifles for Farook as part of their plans to attack the college and the freeway, according to the federal complaint.
They also planned a rush hour attack on busy state Route 91 in Riverside.
She described him as a “Dudley Do-Right” character who took his job very seriously.
Marquez: [unintelligible] They can trace all the guns back to me.
Four years ago, Marquez said, he and Farook planned to toss pipe bombs into the cafeteria at Riverside City College and then shoot people as they fled.
Marquez has reportedly divulged that he purchased guns used by Farook and Malik in the recent attack.

For example, Morgan said, no one knew Marquez was married to woman whose sister was married to Farook’s brother – a marriage federal authorities now allege was a sham meant to secure a green card for the Russian national.
The criminal complaint filed against Marquez indicates that in 2011 he and Farook were planning to use firearms and explosives to carry out terrorist acts, attacks that Marquez allegedly told investigators were created to generate mass casualties, according to the news release from the Department of Justice.
“The [expletive] [expletive] used my gun”, he said. He was involuntarily committed to a psychiatric ward.
He is also accused of illegally purchasing the two rifles that were used by Farook and Tashfeen Malik. Farook introduced Marquez to Islam at age 16, and the two shortly thereafter began spending most of their days ingratiated in radical Islamic music and reading material and videos, including al-Qaida bomb making tutorials. He said he agreed to buy them because “Farook looked Middle Eastern”.
The second plot was decidedly more ambitious.
President Barack Obama is due to travel to San Bernardino on Friday to meet privately with victims’ families. “I lead multiple lives and I’m wondering when it’s all going to collapse on M[e]”, Marquez wrote.

But lawmakers on both sides of the aisle say there were signs, including messages Malik exchanged on social media and an inaccurate address on her visa application, that should have raised questions for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services. Marquez was known to friends as a hapless dupe, a big fan of this punk rock band, interviewed on local TV news after running to rescue a friend’s dog.
