Despite getting ravaged by critics this past week, fans are not listening since David Ayer’s Suicide Squad took home .5 million Thursday night.

However, the movie’s ultimate playability is still in question after receiving a B+ CinemaScore from North American audiences.
The latest entry in Warner Bros.’ DC cinematic universe opened on approximately 3,700 screens according to BoxOfficeMojo. Cara Delevingne, who plays the Enchantress in the movie, recently responded to the negative reviews at the film’s London premiere.
The film also continues to dominate the global marketplace, opening in 17 additional territories yesterday with an estimated $33 million from 17,900 screens in 57 markets, bringing its worldwide total to $64.6 million.
In America, the film took in $20.5 million from Thursday night screenings, nearly doubling the previous August record of $11.2 million, set by Guardians Of The Galaxy in 2014.
In the Dark Knight trilogy, one of the most recurring complaints from fans and general viewers was Batman’s heavy and almost inaudible voice, which could practically give you a sore throat just by hearing him speak. Players can now earn Suicide Squad themed rewards, including new companion cards, from these modes.
Warner Bros. spent $175 million making the movie as part of its efforts to create an interlocking cinematic universe filled with DC superheroes, much like what Disney has achieved with the Marvel characters.
There was more of Jared Leto’s Joker in DC’s Suicide Squad movie, but you probably won’t ever see it. Next up is Patty Jenkins’ “Wonder Woman” in June.

The top five for the weekend box office was otherwise filled with holdovers. SXT Entertainment’s “Bad Moms” also continued solid business with $14.2 million in its second week, bringing the cumulative gross for the comedy to $51 million. Where available, the latest global numbers for Friday through Sunday are also included.
