Other Illinois colleges ranked include: Northwestern University (15), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (72), Illinois State University (409), among others.
The 2016 Best Colleges for Your Money rankings listed UVA at No. 3 among public institutions and No. 9 among all US colleges and universities, citing a top-notch education delivered at one of the country’s lowest total college costs. It’s the highest a public university has ever been on the list.
Money Magazine also measured comparative value, by assessing how well students at each school did vs. what’s expected for students with similar economic and academic backgrounds, and the college’s mix of majors.
Learning for learning’s sake is great, and the most important takeaways from a college education – personal growth, the ability to discuss critically and think trenchantly – can’t be quantified.
Princeton University may be one of the priciest schools in the country, but it tops this year’s “Best Colleges for Your Money” ranking from Money magazine.
The rankings show that the average earnings for a UVA graduate within five years of graduation comes in at $55,400. View Money’s profile on Bethel and the entire rankings list. In addition, the college’s 92 percent freshman retention rate speaks for student satisfaction.
The methodology also incorporated data from the U.S. Department of Education’s College Scorecard and took into account the percentage of a school’s graduates who consider themselves to be in “meaningful” jobs.
