A Star Wars Story

Star Wars enthusiasts believe this moment to be extremely consequential, theorising that the crystal bears a huge importance on the franchise’s future events (as see in Episodes IV, V, VI and VII).

For one, we learn more about Jyn Erso’s backstory and how her father was forced to work for the Empire. Director Gareth Evans takes audiences to a ground war, where rebels and stormtroopers battle through all sorts of terrain whether that’s in the slums or storming the beaches. We can’t wait to find out… The trailers have been released to nearly universal acclaim and everyone seems very excited to see the finished product on the big screen.

Following yesterday’s global trailer for Rogue One, two more worldwide trailers have dropped for the film. We later see Jyn holding and gazing at the crystal necklace years after receiving it. Check it out below. Many online cited that quote and more in the wake of the Presidental election, so a new trailer replaying that line a day later is a noteworthy coincidence at the least. The new trailer appears to show that test.

So, let’s analyze! The trailer shows us a woman who seems to be Jyn’s mother. “We’ll follow your lead”, Cassian says to Jyn, who then replies: “I’m not used to people sticking around when things go bad”. If this actually is a kyber crystal, it will be the first one seen on-screen in a live action “Star Wars” film. Well, more like more teases. Now, the most recent worldwide trailer actually starts off with his “Imperial March” theme and includes a short soundbite of that chilling breathing noise.
