Governor Rick Snyder is requesting $31 million (£22 million) from the federal government because the need “far exceeds the state’s capability”. There is no doubt that the state has a moral obligation to provide clean water immediately for the citizens and to devise a long-term solution, no matter how costly.

“There are no excuses”, the presidential candidate said in a statement. “While everyone acknowledges that mistakes were made”, he said, “my duty as attorney general requires that I conduct this investigation”.
