A Trump proposal for national debt would send rates soaring

Pressed further on his comments on CNBC, Trump acknowledged that the situation he would face as president would be different than that of a commercial real-estate developer, making ambiguous statements about how far he’d go to revise the terms of USA government bonds.

Chairman and CEO Sheldon Adelson, an influential Republican donor, said he will support Donald Trump as the Republican presidential nominee in an interview with the New York Times said on Thursday.

Paul Manafort, a top Trump adviser, told MSNBC Republicans will rally behind the businessman because he has strengthened the party by attracting new supporters. Still, Trump says, Ryan’s refusal to swing behind him is “not a good thing” and “something the party should get solved quickly”.

Mr. Trump said he was meeting with Mr. Ryan next week, possibly on Wednesday.

Trump received criticism and angered allies with his comments on rethinking North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and suggesting Japan and South Korea should consider getting nuclear weapons to defend themselves.

Next week’s meeting, Priebus said, will “start the process of unifying”.

“But at the same time, now that we have a presumptive nominee who is going to be our standard-bearer, I think it’s very important that there’s a demonstration that our standards will be beared”, Ryan said.

Trump has not yet ruled out accepting public financing for his general-election effort. “This is not a reality show”, Mr Obama said.

As that reality sank in Friday, some Republicans were not shy about expressing their displeasure with Ryan.

Obama said he would be looking to see the American people are adequately informed about where candidates to replace him in the White House stand on issues, what they believe and whether their budget numbers add up.

“Yesterday’s statement emboldens others to be equally publicly hard”.

Pierson also argued that the onus was on Ryan, not Trump, to bring about party unity – contradicting Ryan, who said Thursday to CNN’s Jake Tapper that in addition to being unable to support Trump right now, “the bulk of the burden on unifying the party will have to come from our presumptive nominee”. Added Rep. Lou Barletta of Pennsylvania: “The voters of our party have spoken loud and clear, and it’s their voice that matters”.

Rep. Lee Zeldin, R-N.Y.: “He is by far a much better candidate for president than Hillary Clinton”, he told the New York Jewish Week. But i think everyone has to … allow a little bit of the steam to get out and get everybody settled down. The vice president has previously lambasted Trump for his policies on immigration and refugees. This is, as many people have pointed out, a totally insane idea.

Even in an election season that has exposed extreme and public divisions within the GOP, Ryan’s decision to withhold his support from Trump was extraordinary. What he and our other politicians fail to see is that we have 9/11s going on all around us.
