The Vikings announced a sweet addition to their fancy, new stadium.

The ship, which has a built-in video board, is supposed to serve as a “sculptural landmark” for the NFL’s newest, state-of-the-art venue.
When the Vikings finally move into U.S.Bank Stadium next year, no one will be able to say their ship hasn’t come in.
The ship, which will have a 43-foot-high dragon head and 55-foot-high video board sail, will sit on the 3-acre plaza outside the stadium.
“The Viking ship located outside the team’s Winter Park training facility has always been a favorite stop for visiting Vikings fans”, said Vikings Owner/President Mark Wilf in a statement. The sides of the Legacy ship are lined with round things that look like shields but are buttressed by the names of sponsors. Actual Viking ships, known for their raids on Europe and beyond, created their sounds and smoke effects through nontheatrical means. The $1.1 billion U.S. Bank Stadium is now under construction.

The ship will be privately paid for and fans will have the opportunity to purchase engraved pavers to become a permanent part of the structure for $160, $295 and $360.
