AAA: Drivers to Pay Lowest Thanksgiving Gas Prices Since 2008

AAA has updated its Thanksgiving travel forecast after a dip in gas prices. “While many remain cautious about the economy and their personal finances, lower gas prices and a higher level of consumer optimism have contributed to increase in holiday excursions”.

AAA spokesperson Chelsea Pompeani says almost 47-million people will drive to their destinations for Thanksgiving. Prices at the pump will be at their lowest since 2008, according to AAA.

In 2014, 45 people died on state roads over Thanksgiving weekend, the CHP said, a 36 percent increase over the prior year.

All the extra traffic calls for extra diligence on the part of those behind the wheel during the next few days. And I don’t know if we’ll see that with the tax structure in NY state… we’re hoping that things stay where they are.
