Sooraj Barjatya’s “Prem Ratan Dhan Payo” releases on 12 November. As this film is from Sooraj Barjatya, Salman has not charged a penny to him, while the filmmakers have already collected 57 crores by selling music and satellite rights. It was an audacious move for an actor who was still establishing himself, especially when top stars such as Anil Kapoor and Salman Khan had turned down the role.

The latest installment in the James Bond series titled Spectre, moved its release date in India, since Salman Khan’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is set to hit the cinemas.

Budget of Prem Ratan Dhan Payo is higher than that of bajrangi bhaijaan and also the screen numbers are quite near but still PRDP leads BB in all the stats and Diwali is just increasing expectations for a box office collections.

Shah Rukh Khan played the bratty Raj Malhotra in DDLJ only to appease producer Yash Chopra. Loved for its ambitious scale, action and special effects, the film earned Rs. 245 crore within the country and almost Rs. 40 crore internationally. The film clashed with Ajay Devgn-starrer Son of Sardaar at the box office amid much controversy. It got good response all over in the opening weekend itself.

2012 witnessed two big releases on Diwali.

Spectre is directed by Sam Mendes and has been released in the United Kingdom. After four months, I started meeting people and there was this film being made by Suresh Bhagat title Biwi Ho Toh Aish which had an impressive cast. On the other hand, “Son of Sardar” which opened to lesser screens than SRK’s movie was a hit but an average grosser.

“Dilwale” reunites the iconic pair of Shah Rukh-Kajol five years after their 2010 drama “My Name is Khan”. “One” in which he was paired opposite Kareena Kapoor.

Salman and Sonam, who will be soon together in the Sooraj Barjatya directorial, shared many other thoughts about his film, star families, fan mails and first crush.

By far, this script is the most evolved one. Clearly, her gain was Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s and Juhi Chawla’s loss – both had turned down the role. When Salman Khan was not in front of the camera, he was either feeding animals or cracking up.

Commenting on doing a “frothy fun” film like Dilwale after having done Badlapur, one of India’s young heartthrobs Varun Dhawan said, “It a typical Rohit Shetty film and my father [David Dhawan] is a fan of his films”.
