AAP defends Rajendra Kumar; cites his clean service record

“The Delhi chief minister, Arvind Kejriwal, seems to believe in untruth and defamation, delivered in a language that borders on hysteria”, he added.

According to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), following registration of the case, the probe agency laid a trap and the personal assistant was caught while accepting the bribe of Rs.2.2 lakh from the complainant, on behalf of the IAS officer. Docs seized from my office.

“CBI raids my office”, Kejriwal tweeted.

He pointed fingers at Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, who was the president of the Delhi District Cricket Association (DDCA) for some time.

“Since Jaitley has lied on the floor of the House and misled Parliament, it warrants a privilege motion against him”, said AAP leader Ashutosh.

“If Jaitley were (to be) let off without investigations on (the) basis of his press denial, then should all coal and 2G (scandal) accused also be similarly let off?”

The glum faces at the press conference by AAP’s B-Team on the so called DDCA scam said it all as Arvind Kejriwal kept away and Manish Sisodia was nowhere to be seen.

The Aam Aadmi Party, to which Kejriwal belongs, resoundingly came into power in February by winning a majority of seats in the Delhi state assembly on an anti-corruption platform. She also said that Kejriwal should have cooperated and should have first asked for proof and evidence from the CBI before calling it political vendetta.

“Mr. Kejriwal retweeted a post that quoted sources as saying that after the ruling BJP’s Bihar election defeat, “(Narendra) Modi has been weakened so others also have to be weaker”. In a further escalation of the confrontation between the Opposition party and the government, the party claimed that a committee constituted by the Delhi government has found “gross financial irregularities’ in the DDCA”.

New Delhi, Dec 16 The CBI on Wednesday denied seizing any material irrelevant to the probe against the Delhi chief minister’s principal secretary Rajendra Kumar during a raid at the Delhi secretariat.

The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) had on December 9 questioned Rajendra Kumar in connection with alleged irregularities in conducting fitness tests for commercial vehicles. “He can’t pull me in by talking about some details of 2015 and 2014”, he explained, terming allegations as non-specific and unsubstantiated.

Another AAP charge against Jaitley is that DDCA, under his command, escalated the cost of construction of Ferozshah Kotla stadium from Rs 24 crore to Rs 114 crore, that too without building plan approval by MCD and DUAC.
