The party received a total of Rs 9.42 crore donations above Rs 20,000 each during 2013-14 and Rs 35.28 crore during 2014-15.
While making a declaration of donations to the EC, NCP announced the highest increase of 177 per cent from Rs 14.02 crores in FY 2013-14 to Rs 38.82 crores in FY 2014-15.
The analysis states that the “donations report submitted by AAP, the only state recognised party of Delhi, did not contain the cheque or demand draft number of any transaction for the the two years though it was the most preferred payment method of donors from India and abroad”.
AAP is the only major political party in Delhi which has declared details of donations received by it below Rs 20,000 during 2014-15, a report has claimed.
There were 3,326 donations during 2014-15 ranging from a mere Re 1 to Rs 20,000.
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has built a place for itself in the Indian political scenario, has been charged by a democracy watchdog of taking donations from “mysterious” donors.
For instance, AAP had picked up over Rs 1.5 crore in the two days after Arvind Kejriwal visited Varanasi on March 25, 2014 and confirmed he would fight against Narendra Modi, the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate.
It should be noted that there were 2 donors by the name of Priya Bansal, one who donated Rs 36 lakh but did not provide address or PAN details or complete mode of contribution and the other Priya Bansal had provided complete address and PAN details in all the seven donations she had made for a total amount of Rs 34 lakh.

AAP’s funding campaign, often fuelled by face-offs with the BJP through the Lok Sabha campaign, found success in tapping individual donors who opened their purse strings when the rookie party came under attack. In all, it said it received Rs 35.28 crores a year ago. The sum is significant as ADR’s analysis shows that only 7.5 percent of total donations received by all national parties collectively are from individual donors.
