AAP Legislators Accuse Centre Of ‘Misusing’ Delhi Police
The bill, introduced by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the assembly on Monday, seeks to double the threshold limit of luxury tax from a room costing Rs 750 per day to Rs 1,500 by amending Sections 2 and 8 of the existing 1996 act.

Leader of Opposition Vijendra Gupta countered Sisodia, saying “the Delhi government is doing politics of confrontation and wants to continue it”.
Mr. Gupta kept repeating his statement that the government is sitting on the report as it exposes wastage of public money.
The BJP legislators accused the AAP government of “unconstitutionally hiding” a purported CAG report “which exposes wastage of public money” on ads and demanded the House be “dissolved” over the issue. He demanded the dissolution of the Assembly before staging a walkout along with another BJP MLA, Jagdish Pradhan.
The ruling party legislators are being “implicated in false cases” by Delhi Police despite the fact that courts in several cases observed “political vendetta” against them, AAP legislator Nitin Tyagi said at the Assembly.
“I dont have any knowledge about any such thing”.
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said that the move is aimed at ensuring ease of business and attracting tourists to the national capital.
Gupta objected and asked why Khan was “behaving like the Speaker”.
The deputy chief minister advised the Centre to “remove financial advisors who were ill-advising the government”.
Over 85 per cent of expenditure incurred in one publicity campaign, amounting to Rs 33.4 crore, pertained to adverts released outside Delhi, Mr Gupta later told reporters, citing the “CAG report”.

Criticising the Centre for attacking the federal structure, Mr. Sisodia said that the Centre is confused about Delhi’s status – whether it is a State or a Union Territory. “It also violates the guidelines approved by the apex court”, Mr Gupta added.
