Aaron Rodgers: I’m Back Playing The Way I Like To Play

The NFL MVP had no issues in the offseason. After three weeks of training camp, he said he feels “close” to being all the way back from the knee injury.

No reason to worry now.

Rodgers was terrific last season, throwing for 4,381 yards and 38 touchdowns to just five interceptions.

Well, unless you’re Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers and his girlfriend Olivia Munn, then you spend your Fridays sitting at home making hilarious lip sync videos and posting them onto Instagram.

Rodgers says he has “zero inhibitions” on the field and the Packers don’t seem to have any either after playing Rodgers 33 snaps in the first preseason game, which featured a preview of the more mobile Rodgers that has made nightmares for opposing defenses for many years. “If I have an opportunity to escape the pocket and create a different angle, I’m going to”.

“It’s nice. It’s nice to be back”, he said.

Packers head coach Mike McCarthy notices the difference. “He’s in excellent shape; he’s moved very well, going through the quarterback school drills; he looks very smooth, so that’s the way you want to play”.

Even with the struggles against the Patriots, Barclay received plenty of praise from McCarthy and Rodgers this week. What he might be more focused on this August is the progress of Scott Tolzien, who has been promoted from third-stringer to Rodgers’ backup. It was the first game I played since the injury. “And it definitely adds a different element to our offense”. “The goal for us is to stay healthy and find some sort of rhythm”.

This is the 12th of 32 NFL capsules in 32 days leading up to the regular season opener September 10.

“We’ve started a little bit slow the last couple years”.

“It’s up to Mike”, said Rodgers about his snaps.
