Abbas tells United Nations of Israeli extrajudicial killings

In 2007, Salah urged “all Muslims and Arabs (to) start an intifada (uprising) to support holy Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa mosque”.

Salah was ordered to present himself to prison officers on November 15.

With Palestinians accusing Israel of trying to seize administrative control of the site, and Israel claiming the mosque compound is being used by Palestinian youth to stage unruly protests, the installation of cameras was proposed this weekend as a means of verifying the conflicting allegations.

Palestinians are also angry at increasing violence by illegal Israeli settlers, who frequently storm the al-Aqsa Mosque compound. Palestinians say the Tel Aviv regime seeks to change the status quo of the compound. After the latest restrictions were implemented, four Israelis were killed in two attacks blamed on Palestinians.

“The suspects attacked a soldier, stabbing and wounding him moderately”, the spokesperson said, adding that the troops “responded to the immediate threat with fire towards the attacker”.

According to a report in Haaretz, the draft resolution calls for Israel to freeze settlement expansion and home demolition, and for the Palestinians to cease lodging complaints against Israel at the worldwide Court in the Hague.

“In the context of suspected attacks, several Palestinians have been killed by Israeli security forces, sometimes allegedly acting with disproportionate force, to the extent that extra-judicial killings are strongly suspected”, he added. All that has to happen is that the Palestinians have to accept that there should be a Jewish homeland in Israel. “Instead, propose solutions that will contribute in a real way…to the improvement of life… and to the safety and security of Israelis”.

The stabbings and shootings that flared in recent weeks resulted in the deaths of 58 Palestinians and 11 Israelis, Hussein said. The statement praised the Jordanian King for his keenness to protect and preserve Al-Aqsa against its attackers.

“To be able to put on Facebook or Twitter specific instructions on how to slice somebody’s chest straight open and cut their intestines, just like was done to my father…is just completely and utterly unacceptable”, said Lakin. Tell that to the Henkin children and the families of the other murdered Israelis.

Kerry chastised Israeli and Palestinian leaders, bemoaning the growing lack of faith in the current leadership on each side.

However, these efforts have already run into trouble.

During the Ottoman Empire, Jews were allowed to visit Temple Mount but were not allowed to pray there.

The Post, made significant by its investigative reporting of the Pentagon Papers and Watergate 40 years ago, and which holds itself out as one of American journalism’s last bastions of dedicated foreign reporting, needs to do better when it comes to the Arab conflict with Israel. Israel has agreed to take a number of steps, including the installation of surveillance cameras on the Temple Mount/Noble Sanctuary.
