Abbott: Morrison ‘never warned me’
Weeks before Mr Turnbull’s leadership challenge there was speculation that Mr Hockey would be dumped after he had trouble getting his first budget passed and troubles with selling economic policies.

But Mr Abbott now claims he was never told by anyone, including Mr Morrison personally, about the risk.
Tony Abbott has accused new Treasurer Scott Morrison of lying about warning the former prime minister his leadership was under threat only days before he was deposed.
“Not true, not true. Scott never warned anyone”, Mr Abbott told News Corp.
But Mr Abbott rejected that claim: “I spoke to him [Morrison] on Friday, not a hint of a warning, so I’m afraid Scott badly misled people“.
“He has been quite successful in getting welfare reform through, I think we need to see that applied to the broader budget issues and the broader agenda of the government“, Dr Oliver said.
Mr Abbott claims that Australia’s new Treasurer misled the public by saying he had warned the prime minister’s office that his leadership was under threat.
Meanwhile, former speaker Bronwyn Bishop has revealed she voted against Mr Abbott in the leadership challenge because she blames him for forcing her to quit the role.
Outgoing Treasurer Joe Hockey has released the final budget outcome for the 2014/15 financial year.
‘Joe will be judged much more kindly in the months and years ahead than he was when he was actually doing the job, ‘ he said.
Hockey came under fire as Australia’s Treasurer following a disastrous first budget in 2014, while his popularity took a further dive after a number of gaffes which included him telling Australians who could not afford a house in the nation’s booming housing market to “get a better job”.
Mr Hockey announced this week he would be leaving politics following the leadership spill.

During Mr Abbott’s beach interview he wouldn’t comment on whether or not he would recontest his seat at the next election.
