Diana O’Dwyer from ROSA (For Reproductive rights, against Oppression, Sexism and Austerity) has said they have heard reports that a few demonstrations are planned against what they’re doing.
Galway Bay fm newsroom – The Abortion Pill Bus is set to arrive in Galway this afternoon for a rally in the city.
Activist Rita Harrold said: “We’re going to drive a bus to Galway, Limerick, Dublin and Cork and it will act as a mobile clinic as unfortunately doctors here can not talk about these services with women”.
It will provide women with a private consultation room to speak with a WomenOnWeb doctor.
The bus then parked across the Corrib river outside St Mary’s Church on the Claddagh.
Up to 50 people turned out in the city to greet the bus and support calls to repeal the 8th Amendment.
A group of 20 women, including a TD, have defied Ireland’s strict abortion laws by travelling across the country and handing out tablets that induce miscarriage.
“Most of the women contacting us regarding the abortion pill have children already and they simply feel they can’t have any more for various reasons”, she said.
It said the stories of those women who regret their abortions, as well as the rights of the unborn child, are being drowned out of the debate.

However, Dr Ruth Cullen from the pro-life campaign branded the event as the “latest publicity stunt” from Deputy Coppinger.
