Above: WhatsApp for Web: Now on iPhone
A solid seven months after the functionality was opened up to Google Chrome and Android users, iOS device patrons can now get in on the act.

WhatsApp has rolled out its web service to Apple iPhone users, allowing them to send and receive messages on their computers as well as their phones.
WhatsApp web was originally launched in January and supported Android, Windows Phone, Blackberry and Nokia S60 and S40 devices.
WhatsApp users on Reddit first noticed the mention of WhatsApp Web support for iPhone users listed on the service’s website.
It seems like the switch has been flipped on this update without requiring a roll out through the App Store, the feature could have easily been activated through a server side change and it appears that that’s what has happened.
While Apple’s iMessage is available on iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, and Mac, WhatsApp’s popularity around the world is largely due to its cross-platform support.

The desktop site, available via web.whatsapp.com, still requires iOS owners to have the WhatsApp app installed on their handsets. As advertised, WhatsApp Web appears to only function in the browser when WhatsApp on the iPhone is actively running.
