It can not be coincidence that Paramount have chosen the week before Beyond hits theatres to announce the next film will have a massive Hollywood star, beloved from franchises as different as the Marvel Cinematic Universe to now the fledgling new Ghostbusters, in the saddle alongside Chris Pine & co.

LOS ANGELES and AMSTERDAM- July 18, 2016 – Netflix and CBS Studios International today announced a landmark international licensing agreement for the new “Star Trek” television series.
Earlier this month, Zachary Quinto told BANG Showbiz that losing Anton was one of the “hardest things” to happen to him.
Star Trek was a brief appearance on his way to mega stardom, and nobody would have imagined then that George Kirk would reappear.
“But Star Trek taught me that family can go beyond blood – it’s about shared experiences”.
The franchise’s return to the small screen will include a new ship and new characters.

Kirk boldly went where no one else would at a VIP screening of “Star Trek Beyond” in SoHo.
“Star Trek Beyond”, the third nuTrek but 13th overall, continues this new tradition off having good odd-numbered films with the help of co-writer and Trekker Doug Jung (below, right).
That includes Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and Star Trek: Enterprise.
