Australian rock band AC/DC are postponing the rest of their U.S. tour after singer Brian Johnson was warned he is going deaf.

In a statement, the band said those rescheduled gigs will likely be with a guest vocalist. More information regarding these rescheduled shows to come.

AC/DC opened the most recent US leg of its tour February 2 in Tacoma, Washington.

Brian Johnson of AC/DC is suffering from serious hearing issues.

But the show must go on and AC/DC have been touring worldwide since a year ago with replacement drummer Chris Slade and guitarist Stevie Young – Malcolm and Angus’ nephew. Speculation has bubbled for years over how long the seemingly indefatigable group could continue to tour together.

Evans was replaced by bassist Cliff Williams in 1977, and Johnson joined in 1980 after the death of Scott. “I don’t want to break down in the middle of a set, or only perform for half the show”, he told The Scotsman.

Following Young’s diagnosis, the band also had to contend with drummer Phil Rudd’s arrest in New Zealand.
