AC Milan Reject Chelsea Bid For Alessio Romagnoli

Chelsea have seen a £30m bid for centre-back Alessio Romagnoli rejected by AC Milan, according to Sky in Italy. Due to a stellar opening campaign, he has been tipped to follow in the foot-steps of many Italian icons and be a mainstay among the Azzurri backline.

The Diavolo made it clear to Chelsea that the Italian U-21 global is not for sale at any price, forcing the Blues to look elsewhere. Romagnoli joined Milan for £21m last summer from Roma, making 34 starts in the Italian top-flight last season, and the country’s press have even compared him to some of the great Milan defenders such as Alessandro Nesta and Thiago Silva.

Now Sky is reporting that English Premier League side Chelsea submitted an official offer of €35m [£30m] for the Rossoneri centre-back.

Chelsea’s palpable desperation is also glaringly evident as Conte turns his attention to a player he had ignored while he was leading the national team to Euros.
